The assault caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
